Dr. Rosina Bierbaum, the chair of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) to the GEF, made a presentation on STAP’s guidance and advice on climate change adaptation.
She explained how STAP’s eight enabling elements underpinned good design for all GEF projects, and outlined STAP’s recent advice on a decision tree for adaptation rationale, and a typology for adaptation benefits. Dr. Bierbaum emphasized how every GEF project needed to think about adaptation consequences – as the key to enduring global environmental benefits.
