"Nature, COVID-19, disease prevention, and climate change"

The streets of Manaus, Brazil, are empty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“When COVID-19 arrived, usual human activity around the world paused or slowed, and nature responded to the opportunity. Even in major urban areas, people remarked on the clearer, crisper, star- brightened night skies.”  

Thomas Lovejoy, STAP Senior Adviser and former STAP Chair, has authored an article entitled, “Nature, COVID-19, disease prevention, and climate change” which touches on topics ranging from some impacts of the pandemic - both good and bad - to possible solutions, which include nature based solutions, otherwise known as ecosystem restoration.
