The Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) will participate in the GEF Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meetings in Washington, D.C., from February 18 to 20, 2025.
TAGs bring together external experts, representatives from GEF agencies, STAP, environmental conventions, and the GEF Secretariat to provide scientific and technical insights that shape discussions on GEF priorities and strategic planning.
These meetings mark the launch of discussions on the ninth replenishment of the GEF Trust Fund (GEF-9), following the GEF Council’s request at its 68th meeting (December 2024) for the Trustee and Secretariat to initiate the process. Replenishment meetings provide a platform for participants to review GEF performance, assess progress, evaluate future funding needs, and develop a financing framework to support global environmental initiatives.
